Advice from Public Health Dorset:
Still stay home
During this coronavirus time, it is important that we still stay home as much as possible to control the risk of infection.
• Stay home as much as possible
• Keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible)
• Limit physical contact with other people
• Keep washing your hands regularly
• Work from home if you can
Alcohol awareness
Are you finding that you are reaching for a glass of something a bit more regularly than usual? It is recommended that adults don’t have more than 14 units a week. This is around six pints of lager or a bottle and a half of wine.
If you find that you are having a negative relationship with alcohol at the moment, it might be time to rethink your drink. LiveWell Dorset are here to help. Take the rethink your drink quiz to discover how much is too much. Consider having regular drink free days throughout your week. Contact them today on freephone 0800 840 1628 or register online.
Updated symptoms of Coronavirus
Please be aware of this updated advice on coronavirus symptoms.
If you develop any of these symptoms, you and your household must self-isolate:
- a new, continuous cough
- a fever
- loss or change in your normal sense of smell or taste
Keep young people safe
A new campaign is asking children and young people to tell someone they trust, or call national charity Childline, if they feel unsafe in their environment during the current conditions associated with Covid-19.
For some children, this period of isolation has left them without their usual support systems such as teachers, extended family and friends. This lack of regular contact with trusted people can put children at increased risk of abuse or neglect.
Please check on family, friends and loved ones and contact the relevant teams should they or you need support.
If you use social media, please share the #TellSomeone messages. This could help a child or young person who is stuck in a situation where they feel unsafe to seek the help they need.
