The Jurassic tennis ladder that has been running through the summer is due to finish with the top 4 due to play finals on September 13th at the Borough Gardens tennis courts.
It has been highly contested with over 150 matches being played this year, giving over 20 people the chance to play competitive tennis, many for the first time.
The defending champion of the last 2 years Steve White looks set to clinch a final space in the hope of defending his title. He has had another incredibly successful campaign winning the majority of his matches.
Young Matthew Barrett, who closely lost out on the title last year, also looks set to clinch a final space after having another successful season including an unbeaten run of 34 matches. The run was ended by John Samuelson, who has had a strong campaign. Clive Stow and Aaron Barlow have also had strong campaigns both winning a significant contribution of their matches.
One new member of the ladder this year said “it has been a great opportunity to play some competitive tennis, in a friendly environment. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and can’t wait to play again next year”.
