Age UK launch ‘Pet Idol’ 2020

Age UK North, South & West Dorset wants you to send in pictures of your little furry, scaly or feathered friends, in a celebration of all things animal in their ‘Pet Idol’ 2020 competition.

Everyone who owns a pet of any kind always believes their best friend is the best in town. There is no doubt, we all love our pets – many of us have relied heavily on them for company and exercise during lockdown, and the long hours working from home.

So, if you have a cat with ‘cattitude’? A dog with extra ‘pawsonality’ or a ‘cocky’ cockatoo, why not show the rest of us how wonderful they really are?

From all of the entries, their judging panel will choose pets they feel embody the spirit of Pet Idol, whether that’s a sassy kitty with attitude, an adorable pup or a gorgeous guinea pig.

Prizes to be won for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners in each of these categories:

1) Most caring pet

2) Most mischievous pet

3) Celebrity pet of the year (dress to impress!)

4) Most lookalike pet

4) Best action shot

Winning pets will be displayed on their website and social media sites, and there maybe even a mention on KeeP 106. Have as much fun as your pet wants and allows!

Age UK can’t wait to see your best pet pals, big and small. All you need to do is pay *£3 per entry to www.justgiving.com/campaign/PetIdol2020

Got more than one star pet in the making? Make sure each has their own entry to give them their moment in the spotlight. You can also enter as many categories as you like.

When paying in your entry fee please don’t forget to leave your full name. Then, email: hparkin@ageuknswd.org.uk with your pet photo, your full name and contact number – by doing this, you are agreeing to Age UK NSWD contacting you if your pet has been chosen as a winner. The closing date for entries is Friday 2 October 2020 at noon.

So what are you waiting for? Join the celebration and enter your pet now!
