The deadline to apply for school places is fast approaching!

Is your child starting school for the first time or moving onto junior or middle school next year?

If you haven’t already done so, you need to apply by 15 January.

The admissions pages on the Dorset Council website give you all the information you need in order to apply.

You can also check out their parents’ guide for information about the different types of schools and how to apply.

Cllr Byron Quayle, Lead Member for Education at Dorset Council is urging parents to apply now:

“If your child is starting school for the first time in September or moving onto Junior or Middle school you need to make your application for them now if you haven’t already done so.

“It is really important to apply by the deadline as it will give your child the best chance of being offered a place at one of their preferred schools. Unfortunately, any applications we receive after 15 January won’t be considered until the late rounds in spring.”

If you’re not able to apply online, you can download a word document from the admissions pages or contact the School Admissions Team on 01305 221060, or email: admissions@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk
