A walking trail to light up our streets is coming

The Dorchester Window Wanderland, runs from Friday, 19th February to Sunday 21st February.

On these three evenings (from 6-9pm), local residents will be able to enjoy an outdoor trail of decorated windows. There are already over 100 window-makers signed up, with people, businesses, churches and schools taking part right across the town. Residents will be able plan their walk around the windows using an interactive map available on the Dorchester Window Wanderland web page. A map will also be available to download and print before the event.

Emma Scott told KeeP 106: “Dorchester Town Council are pleased to support this Covid-safe community project. The window theme of ‘A Brighter Future’ seems ideal, as we look forward to Spring, and hopes that this year we will see a gradual return to normal life. One of the things that the pandemic has reminded us is how strong our local community is, and how much we value it. So it is lovely to see how this project is allowing streets and neighbours to come together, through their windows, if not quite yet in person”

Kathy O’Borne, volunteer organiser, told KeeP 106: “We are thrilled that so many people in Dorchester have already registered for Window Wanderland! The response has been brilliant- it’s shaping up to be a really lovely community event. We hope to get lots more windows on the map in the next two weeks, so if you have already signed up, why not try and get your whole street to join in? With half-term approaching, Dorchester Window Wanderland is a perfect project for the whole family. If you’re not sure what to put in your window, just visit our Facebook page @wwdorch – we will be sharing lots of tips and ideas”.

It is easy to get involved and register your home or business as part of the Dorchester Window Wanderland trail. If you want to make a display, just visit the event here:
