Update in relation to reports of suspicious behaviour in Dorchester

Officers investigating reports of suspicious behaviour in Dorchester have identified and spoken to the man involved.

It was first reported on Monday 15 March 2021 that a man had been approaching female staff members from Dorset County Hospital outside the hospital in the area of Bridport Road between the hours of around 12pm and 2.30pm and making inappropriate comments.

At least five members of staff had reportedly been approached. There were no reports of any threats made or any attempted physical contact.

Police Constable Natalie Skinner, of Dorchester police, said: “We would like to thank all those who responded to our appeal. Through this response and further enquiries, we have been able to identify the man involved and have spoken to him.

“The man has a number of vulnerabilities and we have been able to give him advice to help him understand the impact of his behaviour on the women involved.

“We have updated the victims in relation to the actions we have taken and we would urge anyone who has any concerns to please contact officers from the local neighbourhood policing team.”
