Weymouth All-weather lifeboat Ernest and Mabel was launched at 12.30pm on Wednesday 15th September to assist a person stuck on rocks.
Solent Coastguard requested Weymouth lifeboat to be launched to help a young man who was stuck on rocks below the cliffs to the West of Pulpit Rock at Portland Bill.
On arrival the volunteer lifeboat crew launched the Y boat (a small rubber dingy that is carried on the lifeboat) to enable them to get in close to the rocks where the man was stuck. He was transferred onto the lifeboat and taken back to Weymouth lifeboat station where he was handed over to an ambulance crew.
