Pavilion in the Park celebrates its first birthday!

On April 16th the Pavilion in the Park, which opened in the middle of lockdown a year ago, celebrated its first birthday and organisers can’t believe either how quickly the year has gone or how many lovely things have happened there during that time. They have put together a photo video reminder, do take a look via: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLOAYvALBTE

PiP is such a success due to its committed staff and wonderful volunteers – as well as their brilliant customers of course, and they say thank you for truly making PiP The Heart of the Park – Poundbury’s Great Field.

Following the successful Easter activities, forthcoming events include the Lions Club Family Fun Day on Sunday 8th May. PiP will be running a BBQ as well as ice creams on the day. To find out more please email Anita Harries via: harries-anita@hotmail.co.uk

Then there are the Jubilee celebrations on 5th June. PiP is hosting a wonderful afternoon of activities on The Great Field from 12 noon on the 5th June with live music, family crafts and prizes for the best hats and best dressed dogs on the day. As well as pictures by children from Damers First school in the café, they would also like to collate the memories of Poundbury and Dorchester residents of the Coronation, Silver Jubilee or Royal occasions, ideally with a couple of photographs. The memories will be framed and put up in the community room – would you share your memories with them? If so please email lucy@pipspoundbury.com

And starting on 13th May, back by popular demand, PiP will be hosting its first Music at the Pavilion lunch time concert. Bring a picnic, chairs or a rug or enjoy food from the café and settle down to enjoy a good hour of free music. To find out more or get involved, please email lucy@pipspoundbury.com
