Flood warning for Dorchester and the Lower Frome

A Flood Warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for the Lower Frome from Dorchester to East Stoke. Flooding is expected for Areas in Dorchester, West Stafford, Bockhampton, Lewell, Tincleton, Pallington, Waddock, Moreton, Wool and East Stoke.

River levels are high and rising on the Lower River Frome between Dorchester and Wareham due to the heavy overnight rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations on the River Frome in the Dorchester, West Stafford, Bockhampton, Lewell, Tincleton, Pallington, Waddock, Moreton, Wool and East Stoke areas. No further heavy rainfall is expected but we will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this Warning if necessary. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. People in this area should take action now. We urge all people to take care and not drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 12:00 noon on 28/11/2022, or as the situation changes.
