CCTV appeal following theft of vehicle near Dorchester

Police officers are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify as they investigate the theft of a vehicle near Dorchester.

At around 8pm on Wednesday 5 July 2023 a white Nissan e-NV200 van was stolen from the driveway of an address in Martinstown.

Officers attended and conducted a search of the area, but the vehicle was not located.

A further report was received on Wednesday 12 July 2023 that the van had been found unoccupied in the Bridport area.

Police Constable Glen Caddy, of Dorchester police, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into this vehicle theft and we have obtained a CCTV image of a man we would like to identify.

“I would urge anyone who recognises him to please come forward.

“I would also like to ask anyone who was driving in the Martinstown area around the time of the theft to please check any dashcam footage they still have stored to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230104733. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
