Appeal for witnesses after commercial burglary in Weymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact police as they investigate a burglary at a store in Weymouth.

The incident at Phone Spot in St Mary’s Street was reported at 5.38am on Thursday 18 August 2023.

Entry was forced to the property, a glass cabinet broken and a cash till and a quantity of vapes were stolen.

The offender is described as a white man, between 25 and 35 years old, about five feet 10 inches tall, of slim build and with a goatee or light beard. It is believed that he was wearing a Puffa-style jacket, a scarf or shawl around his neck, baggy tracksuit bottoms and trainers with a dark coloured toe section.

Police Constable Charlie Andrews, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to please get in touch.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone with information about the person responsible or who recognises the man from the description given.”
