Weekend Sports Report

Two Winchester City goals, one each from Jamie Barron and Tommy Wright, put the Citizens in control of the proceedings at Hillier Way.

Weymouth were within ten minutes of crashing out of the FA Cup at the third qualifying round stage before scoring twice to earn themselves a replay on Tuesday night at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Portland United had no luck at Grove Corner, where they exited the Wessex League Cup, losing by 2 goals to 1 against visitors Baffins Milton Rovers.

On Sunday, Weymouth Ladies took the road to Cornwall to play Saltash, but the Terras women returned pointless as they went down by 3 goals to 1, with Zara Holmes getting their only goal.

Burnham Ladies beat Bridport Ladies by 4 goals 3, Masie Macdonald scoring twice with Sophie Northover getting the Bee’s third.

Portland United under 18 team beat their Weymouth guests by 3 goals to 1 at Grove Corner, David Bowmaster netting twice for the Blues youngsters, with Kai Kilcoyne scoring their third.

Dorchester Ladies won at the Avenue Stadium, beating Merley Ladies 3 – 2.

Zara Hunt, Lucy Purbrick and Eliza Allford scored the Magpie’s goals.

In the local Tribute Rugby Leagues, Dorchester lost at Frome by 28 points to 24 , Swanage & Wareham went down by 36 points to 19 at Devizes and Blandford were beaten by Wimborne’s second team by 56 points to 12 away.
