Weekend Sports Preview

Another Saturday, another 6-pointer for Weymouth Football Club’s senior men’s team, who host St. Albans City at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

The Terras and the Saints have almost identical records. They are only separated in the drop zone of the league table by goal difference, with Weymouth at minus 11 and St. Albans at minus 7, so a win for the Terras will see them leapfrog above their guests.

Mark Molesley

Weymouth manager Mark Molesley faces a second 6-pointer in a week on Saturday.

Dorchester visit Bracknell for a Southern Premier League fixture.

Last week’s reverse at Swindon Supermarine has seen the Magpies drop out of the playoff zone into 6th place, so with the Robins currently 3 places below them, Dorchester must start this game as narrow favourites to pocket all 3 points.

Portland travel to the Hythe & Grange Stadium to play Hythe & Dibden in a Wessex Premier League game and in the Southwest Peninsular East Bridport host Crediton at St. Mary’s Field.

On Sunday, Weymouth Football Club’s Women’s team will travel to Honiton while Bridport Ladies Reserves will take the road to Sherborne.

After a sabbatical, the Tribute Rugby Leagues return this weekend, with Dorchester playing Walcot at Coburg Road and Swanage & Wareham visiting Salisbury, both of which are in the Southern Counties Division.

In the Dorset & Wilts League, Weymouth & Portland entertain Blandford at Monmouth Avenue, and Bridport welcomes Wimborne’s second team at the Brewery Field.
