Countryside Matters 09.12.24

In this edition: Ian Condon gives an update on progress on the North Dorset Beekeepers Association’s Honey Bee Centre at Shillingstone • Dr. Ufi Cullen studies craft cider makers around the country, and explains why artisan ciders are good examples of a circular economy, and are good for the environment • Ben Weller of Longburton’s Twisted Cider is one such artisan cider maker sourcing apples locally and selling his cider almost entirely locally. In his new cider-making barn in the village he hopes soon to open to the public for visits and cider tasting • Once more, Castle Gardens in Sherborne has just picked up the top award for their Christmas display competition – that’s now 12 in the last 14 years!  Mike Burks talks about that, and about Christmas trees. Presented by Jenny Devitt.
