KeeP 106 has received an update regarding the roadworks in High East Street, Dorchester, at the junction with Friary Lane and Church Street.
Dorset Council says that, although nearing completion, due to engineering issues the works will be extended until the 25th July 2025, which is an additional week to the original proposed programme.
Due to the nature of these major works and the traffic management required to keep workers, drivers and pedestrians safe, there will be disruption to traffic.
The Council suggests extra time be allowed for your journey through the junction, especially during peak times.
- Friary Lane will continue to be closed until Friday 25th July 2025
- The junction will be controlled with three-way temporary traffic lights.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the work and a safe route will be provided.
A temporary pedestrian crossing will be in place to ensure pedestrians can continue to safely cross the busy road during the works. Due to the temporary configuration of the lights, this may mean longer waiting times for pedestrians.
There will be disruption while construction works take place and we encourage all road users to take extra time when planning their journey in this area.
