Weekend Sports Report

Local Football Summery –

Southern Premier League:

With full time approaching and Dorchester cruising to 3 goals to nil victory at the Avenue Stadium against visitors Walton & Hersham courtesy of Tom Smith’s pair and Joe Parker’s lob over the head of visiting keeper Josiah Alexander Barker the Sham looked down and out, but substitute Stefan Parks unleashed a left foot strike from the edge of the penalty area that left the Magpies keeper Josey Casa-Grande clutching at thin air as the ball rocketed into the net.

Almost immediately following the re-start Dorchester conceded again as Johl Powell stroked the ball past Grande and into the goal for the Sham’s second.

It couldn’t happen again, could it? Yes, it could, and Danylo Hubynets beat the home defence to the ball and rolled it past Grande with the outside of his left boot to equalise.

The goal triggered waves of emotion from the Sham players who 3 minutes earlier had been contemplating the long journey back to London with nothing to show for their efforts.
