Weekend Sports Preview

It’s now the business end of the football season where promotion and relegation issues are decided and three of our local Non-League clubs are all involved.

Portland United currently in third place in Wessex Premier League where only two teams go up the league winners and one from a four team play off.

The Blues are now 10 points clear of fifth placed Baffins Milton Rovers who have three games remaining following their 3-2 defeat at the hands of league champions AFC Stoneham in midweek.

In the Southern Premier Division, both Dorchester and Weymouth who have three games remaining could go down, although the form guide suggests that the Terras are favourites to stay up.

Bridport although sitting in the runners up slot in the Southwest Peninsular League East have no chance of going up as only the league champions will be promoted.

On Saturday Dorchester host Gloucester City, Weymouth visit Hanwell, Portland United entertain AFC Stoneham and Bridport travel to Bishops’ Lydiard.
