West Dorset Cider & Perry Pub of the Year 2026

by Rich Gabe.

Congratulations go to the White Hart, Yetminster for taking the overall winning prize of being crowned the West Dorset Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) “Cider & Perry Pub of the year 2026.

The White Hart is situated only a short 6 minute walk from Yetminster railway station and is the ideal pub to sample a pint of traditional real cider or Perry.  The pub beat off stiff competition from rival pubs and was judged the winner by an independent CAMRA panel of judges who visited all pubs in the competition with the Woodman; Bridport taking second spot. Previously in 2019 it was voted West Dorset CAMRA Pub of the Year.

The pub is run by business partners Craig Barfoot and David Morgan. On receiving the award Craig said” Under my management I have celebrated Dorset, which is the county I have proudly been in the whole of my life, with rotating guest ales and ciders from South-West breweries and orchards. It is an honour to have been awarded the West Dorset CAMRA Cider and Perry pub of the year” Craig went on to say “Cider is my typical drink of choice and I will have several pints of both still traditional ciders we stock”

West Dorset CAMRA competitions coordinator Kylie Stroud said” The White Hart ticked all the boxes, with good quality cider served at a correct temperature, the initial welcome was good and staff had good product knowledge and actively promoted cider with-in CAMRA’s aims” She went on to high-light the pubs welcoming and tastefully presented interior surroundings.

The pub will now go forward into the county Cider & Perry Pub of the year. West Dorset CAMRA wishes Craig and David good luck for the future.
