The FRESH look is planned for the harbourside Old Rooms pub in Weymouth.
Plans for refurbishment works, both to the in and outside public areas, have been given the green light by Dorset Council – along with changes to some ’back room’ functions.
The Cove Row pub had requested consent for listed building works including alterations to redecorate public areas, refurbish existing timber furniture and the bar servery, upgrade WCs, carry out refurbishment works to the kitchen, office, cellar, bottle store and rear corridor, and complete mechanical and electrical works.
The external changes include a new colour scheme, planters, festoon lighting, replacement outdoor furniture, entrance improvements, refurbishment of brick paving and the construction of two enclosed full-height bin stores.
Said owners, Greene King: “Every effort has been made to preserve original features and respect the heritage of the conservation area while ensuring it remains a viable and welcoming public house for the community. The proposals comprise predominantly minor internal refurbishments, repairs, and operational improvements, together with limited external alterations within the existing beer garden area.”
