Local people are being given the chance to shape health and wellbeing services in Dorset. Local councils and NHS services are working together on a shared plan which sets out health and wellbeing priorities over the next few years.
The plan will look at a variety of things that affect the health and wellbeing of residents such as health, employment, housing and children being ‘school ready’.
Chief Officer NHS Dorset CCG and lead for Dorset ICS ‘Our Dorset’ Tim Goodson said:
“It’s really important we hear what in our plan is important to local people and where they think we should focus our efforts.
“Dorset is one of only nine integrated care systems (ICS) across the country. As a system we have already done a lot to improve services and make better use of our collective resources but there is always more we can be doing.
“I’d encourage everyone to go online and let us know what they think.”
This work is the next phase in bringing health and wellbeing services even closer together. Plans will have a greater focus on prevention activities such as the Healthy Homes Dorset scheme which helps vulnerable people improve their living conditions.
