Motorcyclist airlifted to Southampton General Hospital after crashing near Owermoigne

A motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries following a collision in Owermoigne and officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At around 1.15pm on Saturday 8 April 2023 a collision occurred on the dual carriageway section of the A352 between Warmwell Cross and Owermoigne involving a silver Yamaha motorcycle that had left the carriageway.

The rider, a man aged in his 50s, was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and it reopened at 5.35pm.

Police Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the traffic unit, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this collision and I am appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time and either witnessed the incident or captured it on dashcam to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would like to thank motorists for their patience while the road closures were in place so we could carry out our investigations and treat the injured rider.”
