Looking for a rewarding career? Become a registered childminder

If you are looking for a rewarding career working with children, that enables you to work from home, then childminding is a brilliant option.

With government start-up grants available, there has never been a better time to start your childminding journey.

We will be holding three briefing sessions in February and March for Dorset Council residents to find out more about becoming a registered childminder.

The briefing sessions will provide an overview of becoming a childminder and the registration process. The Government start-up grants will also be explained.

Cllr Byron Quayle, Dorset Council portfolio holder for Children, Education, Skills, and Early Help, said:

“We want all Dorset’s children to have the best start in life, and great childcare plays a vital role in this. The availability of safe and stimulating childcare is also crucial in supporting Dorset’s families, by enabling parents to work. With a seven-month-old at home my wife and I know firsthand just how important this is.

“A rewarding career in childcare will allow you to make a difference to local children and with Government start-up grants available, it’s a great time to find out more.”

The childminding briefings are open to all Dorset Council residents and free to attend. To secure your space, please click here to RSVP via Eventbrite.

If you’d like to find out more about the briefings, please contact earlyyearsadvice@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk
