On 11th November 2025 the annual Service of Remembrance was held at the Memorial Area outside County Hall in Dorchester, the HQ of Dorset Council.
Attending the service were councillors from Dorchester, Weymouth and Portland Town Councils as well as many representatives, past and present, from the military and other organisations who wished to lay a wreath in memory of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice during two world wars and other conflicts.
Leading the prayers was the Revd John Yarrien, Superintendent Minister Dorset South and West Methodist Circuit, the music accompaniment was provided by the Durnovaria Silver Band, band member Mr Fred Slade played the Last Post and Reveille and the choir of St Osmunds School performed two musical items.
