Weekend Sports Report

Weymouth, desperate for Southern Premier League points, hosted visitors Wimborne Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium and went in at half time a goal to nil down. But the Terras’ Mr. Dependable striker Brandon Goodship netted the equaliser in the 56th minute to salvage a point for his new manager Jamie Wells.

Our Man at the Match said, “Goodship’s goal was a bit of a scramble but in ended up in the back of the Magpies net and that is all that counts. Weymouth were certainly the better side in the second half and could have gone on to win the game, but it wasn’t to be and at least the Terras are unbeaten in 2026”.

Dorchester’s match away at Farnham fell victim to the weather and was postponed.

In the Wessex Premier League Portland went down by 2 goals to 1 away at Laverstock & Ford and in the Southwest Peninsular League East Bridport lost out at St. Mary’s beaten by Teignmouth by 4 goals to nil.
