Weymouth Half Marathon Report:
A record number of runners participated in the event, which takes place in the Dorset resorts’ seafront and town center.
In total, 1,500 athletes participated in the race over two distances, 13.1 miles and 6.55 miles.
Dave Newman from Bournemouth Athletics Club was first to cross the finishing line with a time of 01:12:04.
Race director Alan Rose was buoyed by the success of this year’s event and said he is looking to take the race ‘to the next level’ after the race’s biggest ever turnout.

Weymouth Football Club has moved out of the Southern Premier League relegation zone into 17th place following their 4 goals to nil win against Hungerford at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday.
The Terras’ scores came from Reubin Reid with a brace and a goal each coming from Brandon Goodship and Matt Burrows.
In the same division, Dorchester travelled to Basingstoke Town and shared the points 1 apiece following a 1 all draw, Corby Moore netting for the Magpies.
In the Wessex Premier League, Portland United took the road into Hampshire to lock horns with Baffins’ Milton Rovers, but the Blues’ journey was unrewarding as they went down by a goal to nil.
Bridport raced into a 2 goals to nil lead at St. Mary’s against visitors Bovey Tracey, but then conceded 4 goals in succession without adding to their total, losing the game 4-2.
