Spring COVID 19 vaccination bookings now open

Eligible Dorset residents can now book their Spring Covid-19 vaccination.

The national online booking system opened today, Tuesday April 7, with appointments available from 13 April 2026.

If you are eligible to have this vaccination, you will be contacted directly by the NHS. This might be by text message, letter or phone call.

You will be invited to either book an appointment, or you will be offered an appointment to attend. If you are unable to attend an appointment that is offered to you, please make contact to rearrange.

To be eligible, residents must be:

  • Aged 75 and over
  • Living in a care home for older adults
  • Aged 6 months or older with a weak immune system

Vaccinations are being delivered by some GP practices, pharmacies and at community vaccination clinics.

Ways to book at any of these locations:

If you think you are eligible, and have not been contacted by the NHS, the best option is to contact your general practice surgery using their online forms, to free up their phone lines where possible. Also, check with your practice that your contact details are up to date.

The RSV vaccination is also now being offered to anyone who is age 75 or over, or a resident of older adult care home.

Last winter, the NHS found that the RSV vaccination helped reduce hospital admissions among people aged 75 to 79 by around 30%.  With more people coming forward this year, we can expect even greater protection and fewer hospital admissions.

Wherever possible, it’s safe to have both vaccinations for RSV and COVID-19 at the same time, making it easier and more convenient for people to get vital protection from both viruses ahead of winter.
