On Saturday 25th April, Weymouth’s Anzac Day service took place at 11am by the Anzac Memorial, which is opposite the Hotel Prince Regent. Members of the public were invited to attend the service of remembrance which commemorates the thousands of Australian and New Zealand volunteer personnel who passed through camps and hospitals in Dorset during the First World War. After a little music from the band Cllr. Caroline Nickinson, Mayor of Weymouth and Portland introduces the service to the large crowd that gathered for the act of Remembrance and wreath laying.
