Dorset Council currently has more than 130 vacant posts being advertised on its website.
The positions vary from up to £86,000 a year to £3,000 a year for some part-time school positions.
The section which has the most vacancies is schools where 86 jobs are on offer, with 13 in children’s services, 6 in adult services, 16 in community and transport, and 8 listed as ‘professional and support’.
Salaries for the jobs currently offered vary from up to £86,000 for a chief financial officer for the Coastal Learning Partnership with other higher paid positions including up to £66,000 for an educational psychologist and £50,000 a year for a project manager for the £20million Pride in Place project with the Littlemoor and Broadwey Neighbourhood Board.
Social worker jobs in both the adult and children’s teams start at £42,840, or £48,200 for more experiences practitioners, while another health and social care role, as inclusion lead, is on offer at Blandford Forum with a pay scale of £39,100 to £45,000 per year.
Several teaching assistant positions are available also across the county, varying in pay level, depending on the grade and hours worked, but most have a full-time equivalent salary of around £25,500. Other school related jobs include term-time only learning mentors and passenger assistants working around 20 hours a week with a pay scale of around £11,300.
Among the more unusual positions are £35,300 for a sales and growth executive at Coastland College, Weymouth which also has several teaching posts paying £31,300 per year including in English, hairdressing and art ; an exams officer at Budmouth School, Weymouth paying up to £31,000, with £32,600 offered for an operational co-ordinator at the Tumbledown Farm community project on the outskirts of Weymouth.
The council is also offering up to £27,000 for parking services officers based at Charminster but working across the county – which follows on from a recent council decision to increase the number of traffic wardens.
