Man sustains head injury in altercation on the Rodwell Trail

Police officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a reported assault in Weymouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 5.02pm on Wednesday 5 August 2026 reporting an altercation on the Rodwell Trail, off Abbotsbury Road involving three men and two women.

It was reported that a male victim sustained a head injury before he left the scene on foot. He was last seen at Weymouth Railway Station.

Police Constable Jake Ward, of Weymouth police, said: “We are keen to speak to the victim in this incident and I would urge the man involved to please come forward and make contact with us.

“I am also keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with further information that might assist our enquiries.”
