Students at Creative Image Studio in Dorchester are donating their own artwork for a special one-day sale to help raise funds for improvements to the studio where they meet, learn and create each week.
Treasure Trove – Student Art Sale & Arts & Crafts Destash Fair will take place on Saturday 7 November 2026, from 10am–3pm, at Creative Image Studio in Antelope Walk, Dorchester.
At the heart of the event will be a collection of original artwork generously donated by students of the studio. Every piece will be available for just £10, with proceeds helping to fund improvements to the premises.
Creative Image Studio is a small independent business offering beginner-friendly art classes and workshops. As well as teaching art, the studio has grown into a welcoming creative community where people can learn a new skill, meet others and enjoy spending time creating together.
Studio owner Tyra Goosen said:
“The studio has become so much more than somewhere people come to paint. Friendships have been made here and there is a lovely sense of community amongst our students.
“We work hard to keep our classes affordable while covering the everyday costs of running the studio, but that means there simply isn’t a big budget available for improvements to the premises.
“When our students offered to donate their own paintings to help raise money, I thought it was incredibly generous. Some of these pieces have taken many hours to create, so we’re hoping people will come along, find something they love and give the artwork a new home.”
Funds raised will go towards improvements including better lighting and electrical work, air conditioning, plumbing, flooring, painting and decorating, helping to make the studio a more comfortable and welcoming space.
Treasure Trove will also feature an Arts & Crafts Destash Fair, giving local artists and crafters an opportunity to clear out unused and surplus creative supplies. Visitors can expect paints, brushes, pencils, paper, canvases, fabrics, yarn, craft materials, tools, books and other creative finds.
There will also be coffee and cake, donated art and craft supplies and a raffle during the day.
People who would like to sell their own surplus art and craft supplies can book one of a limited number of destash tables for £5. Seller tables are for art and craft supplies rather than finished artwork or handmade products.
The studio is also inviting local businesses and tradespeople to get involved. Businesses able to offer materials at cost, discounted labour, donated supplies or professional expertise towards any of the planned improvements are encouraged to contact the studio.
Tyra added:
“Even if someone just comes in for a browse and a cup of coffee, we’d love to see them. We want Treasure Trove to be a really enjoyable community day as well as an opportunity to raise money to make our studio even better.”
