Dorchester Beerex is set to return in Dorchester’s fully refurbished Corn Exchange over the weekend of Friday & Saturday 5th & 6th of February 2027, with tickets set to go on sale late November/early December 2026.
The annual fund raising beer festival now in its 38th year is organised and run by a committee made of members of West Dorset Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and Dorchester Casterbridge Rotary Club.
Following on from their recent Weymouth Octoberfest “Beer of the Festival” win with Gurt Coconut’s Rum Stout the Beerex committee are delighted to welcome back once again local brewer Cerne Abbas Brewery as the festival’s main sponsor.
Speaking on behalf of the brewery Mark Richardson said “What a Gurt result for us, proper chuffed! To come out on top against so many brilliant beers at this year’s Weymouth Octoberfest is a right honour. Thank you to all that voted for us. 2027 marks a whole decade of success for this beautiful brew, we may have to cook up a special variant to celebrate at Beerex 2027.”
Mark went on to say “Speaking of which we are absolutely delighted to be back as the main sponsor, it’s a privilege to support West Dorset CAMRA and Dorchester Casterbridge Rotary Club year after year as they raise vital funds for brilliant local causes. We can’t wait to see you all in the Corn Exchange.”
As always Dorchester Beerex will be making donations to worthy local causes having raised in excess of £320k since 1988. This year’s named charity is “#Willdoes” named in honour of 14 year old William Paddy a sporty, charismatic child with a cheeky smile who enjoyed outdoor activities such as horse riding, snowboarding, rugby and tennis. The charity’s aim is to promote and assist young people in Dorset, introducing them to sports and other activities rather than retreat to more insular gaming and social pastimes, alongside developing coping mechanisms to help manage anxiety, emotions, self-awareness, developing trust and relationships.
The 2027 committee Chair is Rotarian Catherine Slade (Katie) who said “Meetings and plans for the 2027 Dorchester Beerex are in full swing and we can’t wait to welcome you all to this fantastic event. This is our 38th year and we are looking forward to offering you a selection of beers and ciders to raise much needed funds for local charities. I’m absolutely delighted and proud to be this year’s Beerex chair working with the best team.”
Ticket outlets and further details to be announced soon.
