P&O UK cruise ship Ventura anchored in Weymouth Bay due to Coronavirus crisis

Another P&O Cruises UK ship is anchored in Weymouth Bay.

The passenger-free MS Ventura is the second largest vessel in the P&O UK’s fleet of all 7 ships currently in service having a maximum passenger capacity of 3727 plus 1226 staff and crew.

As reported by CrusieMapper.com in March, the P&O ship Britannia was also anchored in Weymouth Bay and was later relocated to Southampton, also without passengers onboard. A spokesperson for P&O UK confirmed that it was normal routine for the vessel to be anchored at sea.

All P&O Cruises passenger shipping operations (UK and Australia fleets) are currently suspended until July 31.

Ventura’s next scheduled voyage is in August – from her home port Southampton to Iberia and the Channel Islands. All major cruise companies were forced to suspend operations and cancel departures due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
