Dorchester Tourist Information Centre closed permanently

Dorset Council has told KeeP 106 that it has taken the recent decision to stop funding and providing its three Tourist Information Centres at Dorchester, Sherborne and Wareham (Discover Purbeck). All three TICs are now permanently closed for face to face service and are currently operating a telephone and email enquiry service which will end on 3 July 2021. This means that, alongside visitor information services, the TICs are no longer be able to act as ticket agents, carry leaflets, promote events or sell stock.

Visitors are being re-directed to the Visit Dorset website www.visit-dorset.com for information about the local area.  In addition, Dorset Council is supporting the local town councils in these areas to set up some form of alternative provision for visitor information.
