Pledge to go over the edge for hospice care with Abseil for Weymouth

If you want to face your fears and try something new and exciting in 2025, why not sign up to Weldmar Hospicecare’s adrenalin fuelled abseiling challenge?

Abseil for Weldmar returns following a successful debut event in 2024, and will take place on Portland on Sunday, 18th May.

Registration is only £25 per participant, with an achievable fundraising target of just £150.

Eden Fraser, from the charity’s Fundraising team, is looking forward to supporting the abseiling adventurers again this year. “We had such a great time at Abseil for Weldmar last year. There was a real buzz on the day and our participants all helped to support each other. We will be on hand in the lead up to the day to offer fundraising tips, support, and motivation for those taking part.”

Every penny raised on the day will allow Weldmar to continue providing specialist care for adults in Dorset with a life limiting illness, and support for their loved ones.

Abseil for Weldmar is being supervised by the team from local outdoor adventure company Adventure4All.

Director Alex Sergison says “We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Weldmar again to be able to offer this challenge. Weldmar is a charity close to our hearts, having supported family and friends in the past, as it no doubt is for so many people in Dorset. Abseiling is an amazing physical and mental challenge, and it was great to see the participants complete the challenge last year, feeling a massive sense of achievement.”

The deadline to register for Abseil for Weldmar is 27th April. The exact location on Portland will be determined by weather conditions on the day. Visit the Weldmar Hospicecare website to book and to find all the terms and conditions and frequently asked questions – weldmarhospicecare.org
