It is with great sadness that we report that Alex Warwick, the subject of the interview below, passed away on Saturday 14th March 2026 at his parents’ home.
Following a very positive week of treatment in Cologne a month ago, and with the fundraising campaign boosted by a major interview with Alex in the Daily Telegraph and his appearance on Good Morning Britain, his condition suddenly deteriorated, the cancer having spread to other parts of his body.
His legacy is the incredible level of awareness of the symptoms that Alex and his family and friends have generated across multiple media outlets in recent weeks, and more than £183,000 plus gift aid raised for the Brainstrust charity, and that will now be used to help others with Brain Cancer.
We extend our deepest sympathy to Alex’s family and friends at this tragic time.
Weymouth’s Ian and Indira Warwick are facing every parent’s nightmare. Their 23-year-old son Alex, a medical student at Liverpool University, has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive brain tumour. NHS treatment hasn’t worked, but there is new hope through pioneering immunotherapy in Germany. This weekend, Alex travels to Cologne for assessment.
