Weymouth Football Club is excited to announce the signing of striker Toby Holmes.
Toby joins from Shaftesbury FC, having scored 33 goals last season.
Toby has a wealth of experience playing in the southern leagues, scoring 285 goals in 463 games, for Poole, Wimborne, Salisbury, Shaftesbury, and Taunton.
Toby had this to say about joining the Terras:
“I’m absolutely buzzing to have signed for such a big club like Weymouth.
I had a great meeting with Jamie (Wells) and Jase (Director of Football Jason Matthews), and they shared their ambitions and aims for the season ahead. They really sold it to me from the start.
I’m really looking forward to playing in front of the huge fan base and hopefully giving them something to smile about!”
Goalkeeper Gerard Benfield has exited Dorchester Football Club and rejoined Weymouth.
But Will Spetch, Corby Moore, Ieun Turner, and Ollie Haste have all resigned for the Magpies.
Now it’s less than 100 days to the start of the IQFOyle World Championshire.
The Weymouth–Portland venue, set on England’s south coast, will provide a world-class arena for the 2026 iQFOiL World Championships from 4 to 12 September. Sheltered by the Isle of Portland and open to the English Channel, the race area is renowned for its reliable late-summer south-westerly sea breezes, often enhanced by thermal effects over the land.
This unique topography creates stable wind patterns and fair, raceable conditions, complemented by manageable chop and strong tidal influences that add a tactical dimension to the racing. Widely regarded as one of the most consistent sailing venues in the UK, Weymouth–Portland promises demanding, high-quality competition where strategy, precision, and adaptability will be key.
