Weymouth pavement licences

by Trevor Bevins, Local Democracy Reporter.

Dozens of pavement table and chairs could be authorised for local cafes by the time the school summer holidays begin.

Several establishments have applied to Dorset Council for pavement licences – allowing them to put out tables and chairs.

Among the most recent applications are for Les Enfants and Rice & Sail on Custom House Quay; Rockfish on the Esplanade and the Bridge House Coffee Shop in St Thomas Street.

Each application is open for public comments.

Les Enfants is the biggest of the applications with a request for 40 chairs and 20 tables from 10am until 11.30pm; The Bridge House Coffee Shop is asking for 28 chairs and 10 tables; Rice & Sail is asking for 16 chairs and 8 tables.

The Rockfish application on the Dorset Council licensing website is displaed only as “no details available.”

Public comments on each of the applications can be made on the website.
