Dorchester travelled to the Winklebury Complex to play Basingstoke Town for a FA Trophy tie, however the referee called proceedings to an end after 39 minutes of the first half had elapsed following a serious neck injury to the Magpies veteran player/coach Wes Fogden when the score was 1 nil to the Stoke.
Dorchester Football Club issued the following statement.
“Our FA Trophy game at @Basingstoke_FC yesterday was abandoned following a serious injury to Magpies player/coach Wes Fogden. In the first half Wes was conscious and talking as he was taken in to the ambulance, and scans in hospital yesterday evening have confirmed two fractured vertebrae in his neck, which will require a number of weeks in a neck collar. We will provide further updates on Wes’ condition when we are able to. We would like to place on records our thanks to all Magpies and Basingstoke staff and players who helped look after Wes yesterday on the pitch before he was taken to hospital From everyone at the club, we send our love and very best wishes to Wes for a full and speedy recovery.”

Weymouth fought out a goalless Southern Premier League draw away at Bulpit Lane against Hungerford Town and for the second week in succession the Terras could only name two substitutes.
Our Man at the Match said, “That’s two away matches on the spin with a return of four points and now Weymouth who are in 17th place in the league table play Yate Town next week who are just one place below the Terras, so next Saturday is the chance for Weymouth to move well clear of the drop zone”.
Portland United took the road into Wiltshire to lock horns with Downton and returned to Grove Corner with all three Wessex Premier League points following their three goals to one victory.
